     Geeltje Stienstra was born on 24 July 1895 in Britswerd, Baarderadeel, Friesland, Netherlands.1,2 She married Tunis de Young.3 Gertrude de Young died on 23 March 1975 in Hawthorne, Passaic County, New Jersey.1 She was buried on 26 March 1975 in Paterson (Cedar Lawn Cemetery).1
     Geeltje Stienstra immigrated with Lolkje Stienstra on the Rotterdam, from Rotterdam, arriving in New York on 8 Sep 1908, with 7 children: Lutske (14, b. Oosterwierum), Geeltje (13), Jantje (11), Jeltje (10), Baukje (9), Trijntje (8) all born in Britswerd, and Jan (5, b. Leeuwarden). They are going to her husband Ch. Stienstra in Pleasantville, NY. Her contact in Holland is P. H. Zijlstra in Oosterwierum.4

Gertrude deYoung, 79, died yesterday at home. Mrs. deYoung was born in the Netherlands and came to the US as a child. She lived in Fair LAwn, before moving to Hawthorne 55 years ago. Surviving are 2 daughters, 3 sisters, Lucy Bokma of Hawthorne, Jessie Erzmoneit of Clifton and Burdie Baker of Fair Lawn; and 2 brothers, Peter Steinstra of Garfield and John of California. Services will be Wednesday in the Vander Plaat Colonial Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.1

1910 Fed. census: Household of Charles Stienstra, (#182), Pine Plains, Dutchess County, New York. Household consists of Charles, his wife Lucy and eight children : Gertrude (14), Jessie (11), Bertha (10), Catherine (9), John (6), Peter (8 mo) and Nellie (8 mo). Peter and Nellie are born in NY, the rest in Holland.5
