     Nellie M. Hennefreund was born in 1874 in Netherlands.1 She married John D. Contant, son of Isaac Contant and Martha Van Ry, on 4 June 1904.1 Nellie M. Contant died on 13 October 1937 in Ridgewood, Bergen County, New Jersey, (607 Heights Ave).1 She was buried in Paterson (Cedar Lawn Cemetery).1
     Nellie M. Hennefreund immigrated with Jacob Hennefreund and Petronella Contant from Retranchement, Zeeland in 1883.1,3

Funeral services for Nellie M. Contant, wife of John D. Contant, of 607 Heights Road, were held at her residence and from the West Side Church last Friday afternoon. the Rev. Jacob B. Meyer, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Lodi officiating. Interment was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Mrs. Contant died on Wednesday Oct 13 as the result of a nervous breakdown, which occurred early in the summer. She was in her 63rd year, and was born in the Netherlands. She came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs Jacob Hennefreund, when she was a girl, and lived many years in Rochester, NY. Mr. and Mrs. Contant were married June 4, 1903 and lived for nearly 30 years in Lodi. When Mr. Contant retired from the coal business 4 yrs ago, they moved to Ridgewood. Besides her husband Mrs. Contant is survived by a brother, Edward Hennefreund of Rochester, a daughter, Mrs. Helen Hyde of Red Hook, NY, and a son, John M. Contant, an attorney, of Ridgewood.1
