George Postema1

M, b. 1850, d. 31 December 1917
     George Postema was born in 1850.1 He married Grietje Postema in 1880.1,2 George Postema died on 31 December 1917 in Ridgewood, Bergen County, New Jersey, (Monroe Street).1 He was buried on 3 January 1918 in Ridgewood (Valleau Cemetery).1
     

His obituary appeared on 3 January 1918 in the Ridgewood Herald
George Postema, of Monroe Street, who for some time has been janitor of the Upper Ridgewood Scchool, was found dead in his bed on Monday morning. He was apparently in good health when he retired and his sudden death is attributed to heart failure. His funeral was held today, the Rev. J. B. Hoekstra officiating at the service at his late home. The interment was in Valleau Cemetery. Mr Postema, who was in his 68th year, is survived by his wife Grietje Postema, and a daughter, Mrs Garrett Smith of Erie Avenue.1
