Cornelis Akershoek1

     Cornelis Akershoek was born in December 1845 in Netherlands.1,2 He married Cozina Fek in 1871.1,2 Cornelis Akershoek died on 11 December 1917 in Castle Hayne, New Hanover County, North Carolina.1 He was buried on 14 December 1917 in Wilmington.1
     Cornelis Akershoek and Cozina Fek immigrated in 1869, but probably not together.2 Cornelis Akershoek was the publisher of a Holland newspaper.3

His obituary appeared on 19 December 1917 in the Telegraaf
My beloved husband, Cornelis Akershoek died Tuesday evening 11 December at the age of 74 years and 9 days. The funeral was on Friday 14 Dec in Wilmington, N.C.

1880 Fed. census: Household of Cornelis Akershoek, 71 Cedar Street, Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey. Household consists of Cornelis, his wife Cozina and as boarders in the houshold of L. Ackershoek (33, b. Holland), his wife Catherine (28, b. Holland) and daughter Cornelia (5, B. NJ), L. is a grocer, Cornelius a grocery clerk.4
1900 Fed. census: Household of Cornelis Akershoek, (#248), Manchester Township, Passaic County, New Jersey. Household consists of Cornelis, his wife Segina and They had one living child.2
1910 Fed. census: Household of Cornelis Akershoek, 469 Van Dyck Ave, Haledon Borough, Passaic County, New Jersey. Household consists of Cornelis, his wife Cozina and They had no living children.3
