Richard T Ely was born on 13 April 1854 in Ripley, New York. Richard T Ely was a professor of economics. At least in 1931 he also was on the Board of Directors of the City Housing Corporation in New York, NY.3 He married Margaret L on 21 December 1931.2,8 Richard T Ely died on 4 October 1943 in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Richard and his wife Margaret had a son, William Brewster, and a daughter, Mary Charlotte, born to them, while they were living at 2 Audubon Place.9,10 Richard T Ely and Margaret L Ely moved before 1937 to New York.7
