Forrest E Long was born in 1896 in Missouri.2,7 He married Hazel in 1916.2,7 Forest E Long appeared on the 1930 Census as the head of household at 201-A27 Abbott Road, with Hazel as wife, and their child Edwin L.2 The monthly rent was $88.-.2 Forrest E Long was an university professor in New York.2,1 He owned a radio in 1930.2 Forrest E Long was a Veteran of the World War.2 Forrest E Long and Hazel Long moved before 1933 away from Radburn, as there was no longer an entry in the directory.8

MCH was founded in 1928 by the noted educator Dr. Forrest E Long, a professor of education at New York University. An author, editor, publisher, administrator, and innovator. Dr. Long became the publisher of The Clearing House, an educational journal for secondary schools. He also founded the Long Conference, an annual conference for school principals that is now hosted by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
Peter E. Long, grandson of the founder, joined the company in 1992 after eight years with Coopers and Lybrand, an international accounting and consulting firm. He currently serves as President and CEO of the firm. John F. Hood joined the management team as President of Data Services in 1997. His experience includes more than 20 years in the educational mailing list industry.9
