Jasper Kiviet was born on 14 April 1883 in Het Bildt, Friesland, Netherlands.1 He married Margaret Kievit in 1905.2,3 Jasper Kievit died on 3 March 1953 in Port Jervis, Orange County, New York.2 He was buried on 6 March 1953 in Ridgewood (Valleau Cemetery).2
Jasper Kievit immigrated with Thys A. Kievit and Japke Kievit on May 21, 1894 on the Veendam. They were going to Paterson.4 Jasper Kievit was a plumber in 1910, and in 1920 a chauffeur for a private family.3,5

Jasper Kievit, of Port Jervis, NY, formerly of Ridgewood died suddenly on Tuesday at teh age of 69. He was born in Holland, and brought by his parents, the late Tice and Jennie Kievit to this country as a little boy. They settled in Ridgewood 61 yrs ago, where he was brought up and attended school. He lived 40 yrs in the Village, and was associated with the Dairyman's League of the State, retiring 4 yrs ago. Funeral services will be held this evening at 8 at the Quackenbush Funeral Home in Port Jervis. Interment will be in Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood. Surviving are his wife Margaret, three sons: Richard and Joseph, of California, and John, of Wortendyke, and a daughter Margaret, of California, two sisters: Lena Jacobs of Ridgewood, and Mary Alonzo? of Cleveland OH, and one brother, Rench of Ramsey, who is a former member of the Ridgewood Police Force.2
