     Pietertje Mastenbroek was born in 1885 in Charlois, South Holland, Netherlands.3 She married Meindert Griek on 22 January 1908 in Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands.3,4 Pietertje Griek died on 9 April 1966 in Upper Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey, (610 Upper Mountain Ave).4 She was buried on 12 April 1966 in Fair Lawn (Fair Lawn Cemetery).4
     Her parents were Paulus Mastenbroek and Aaltje Vlasblom.3 She immigrated on the Noordam, from Rotterdam, arriving in New York on May 4, 1916, with four children: Pietertje (9), Paulus (8), Tjalling (3) and Meindert (1). She was going to her husband M. Griek in 130 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken, Hudson County, New Jersey. Her contact in Holland was her father P. Mastenbroek, Zwijndrechtse straat, Rotterdam.4,1

Mrs. Pietertje Mastenbroek Griek, 82, of 610 Upper Mountain Ave, died Saturday at home after a long illness. A native of the Netherlands, Mrs. Griek came to the US in 1916 and settled in Hoboken. She had resided at the above Montclair address for 27 years. She was the widow of Meindert Griek, who died in 1929. The funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Vermeulen Memorial Funeral Home, 131 Haledon Ave., Paterson. The Rev. Winston Balkins, pastor of the Preakness Christian Reformed Church, will officiate. Interment will follw in Fair Lawn Cemetery.
Surviving are four sons, three daughters, two brothers, Paulus and Dornelius Mastenbroek, and three sisters: Cornelia Visser, Sjaan den Ouden, and Aaltje Treurniet, all of the Netherlands.4,5

Household consists of Meindert, his wife Pietertje and six children: Nellie (10), Paul (9), Charles (5), Meindert (4 + 11 mo), all born in Holland, and Abraham (1 + 5 mo) and Alice (3 + 2 mo) born in NJ.2
