John Onderdelinde was born on 5 September 1875 in Netherlands.1,3 He married Mary Vander Velde on 10 April 1901.1 John Onderdelinde died on 21 April 1966 in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey, (46 Hopper Street).1 He was buried on 25 April 1966 in Fair Lawn (Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery).1

John Onderdelinde, 90, retired grocer, who resided at 46 Hopper Street, died Thursday at his home after a long illness. Mr. Onderdelinde was the husband of teh former Mary Vander Velde. The couple had recently celebrated their 65th anniversary on Easter Sunday. A native of the Netherlands, he came to the US in 1880. He lived in PAterson for 85 yrs. Prior to his retirement in 1964, he had operated a grocerystore at the above address since 1900. As a young man, Mr Onderdelinde worked as a mason, and sold tea, coffee, spices door-to-door. He built his home and grocerystore with the aid of his brother-in-law Cornelius Kort, now deceased. He was a member of the Union Reformed Church of Franklin Lakes. Funeral services will be held Monday at the Vermeulen Memorial Funeral Home, 131 Haledon Ave. The Rev. R. Jamison Hallenbeck, pastor of the above church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.1
