Henry Warnaar1

     Henry Warnaar was born on 12 December 1870 in Netherlands.1 He married Judith Van Tilberg, daughter of Hendrik van Tilburg and Christina van Capel, in 1900.1,2,3 Henry Warnaar died on 27 July 1949 in Passaic, Passaic County, New Jersey, (Passaic Nursing Home).1 He was buried in Lodi (Lodi Cemetery).1

Henry Warnaar, 78, 75 Bogart Avenue, GArfield, husband of the late Judith van Tilburg Warnaar, died yesterday at the Passaic Nursing Home after a long illness. A resident of Garfield for 61 years, he was born in the Netherlands Dec 12, 1870, and lived in Garfield on arrival in the United States. he was a contracter-builder and an architect. He was the builder of the Garfield High School, the Three Saints Church and Holy Name Church. Surviving are three sons, Cornelius H. Warnaar of Garfield, Henry Warnaar Jr. of Clifton, and William C. Warnaar of Rochelle Park, and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at teh Vander Plaat Memorial Home, S-113 Farview Avenue, Paramus on Saturday, with the Rev. Walter Besiegel of the First Reformed Church of Garfield officiating. Burial will take place at Lodi Cemetery.1

1910 Fed. census: Household of Henry Warnaar, 82 Midland Ave, Garfield, Bergen County, New Jersey. Household consists of Henry, his wife Julia and two sons: Cornelius (8), Henry Jr. (5), both born in NJ. His mother-in-law Christina van Tilburgh (76) was living with them. She and Julia immigtated in 1881.2
