     William B. Prophet was born in 1900.1 He died on 10 February 1980 in Saddle River, Bergen County, New Jersey.1 He was buried in Mahwah (Maryrest Cemetery).1
     William B. Prophet appeared possibly on the census of 1920 in 35 Raymond Ave, Rutherford, Bergen County, New Jersey. His father is Robert M. (55), mother Louise L. (52), sister Julia L. (34) and brother Robert M. (31), all born in New York (as is William B. (20)). Father is the president of a Machine Co., brother is the manager of same.2

His obituary appeared on 12 February 1980 in the Bergen Record
William B. Prophet, 80, of Saddle River, died on February 10. Mr. Prophet was the controllerof the Hotel Astor, New York for 26 yrs until its closing in 1966. He then became controller of Caneel Day Plantation, St. John, United States Virgin Islands, until his retirement in 1968. He lived in Glen Rock for 26 yrs, before moving to Saddle River upon retirement. Surviving are a daughter and 3 grandchildren. Mass will be said tomorrow at the R.C. Church of the Presentation, Upper Saddle River. Burial will be in Maryrest Cemetery, Darlington.1
