John Hoitsma, 80, of 438 Grove Street, died Saturday in Bergen Pines Hospital, after a long illness. Mr. Hoitsma was born in teh Netherlands and came to the US 57 yrs ago, settling in Paterson. He moved to Ridgewood 27 yrs ago. He was a retired baker, and was associated with the Hoitsma Bakery of Paterson. He was a former member of the U.T.Y. Society. Funeral Services will be at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Funeral Home, 131 Haledon Ave, Paterson, with the Rev. Lee. L. Kester of the Oradell Reformed Church officiating. Interment will be in Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Surviving, besides his wife, the former Jennie Dykstra, are two sons: Samuel of Upeer Saddle River and John of Franklin Lakes, two brothers: Louis of Mahwah and Stuart of the Netherlands, and two sisters: Miss Tillie of Wayne and Mrs. Coba Plantiga of the Netherlands and 2 grandchildren.1
