Jacob Smith1

     Jacob Smith was born on 14 September 1855 in Netherlands.1 He married Catherine Smith.1 Jacob Smith died on 22 September 1937 in Ridgewood, Bergen County, New Jersey, (112 Irving Street).1 He was buried on 25 September 1937 in Wyckoff (Wyckoff Cemetery).1

Jacob Smith, of 112 Irving Street, Midland Park, one of the oldest residents of the Borough, died last evening at his home after a prolonged illness. He was 82 yrs old on September 14. Mr. Smith was born in Holland and came to this country when a boy. He had lived in Midland Park for 72 yrs. He was a carpenter for a time, but for many years he ran a dairy farm at the end of Irving Street. Despite his years he was up and about until a few weeks ago, and kept in touch with the affairs of his community.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon from his late residence and from the Christian Reformed Church, the pastor, the Rev. Elbert Koolstra, officiating. Interment will be in Wyckoff Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Jean and Elizabeth, and 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and 29 grandchildren.1
