     The City Housing Corporation sold the one-family house at 7 Burlington Place, Radburn, New Jersey, to Carl Watson Hayes of Woodcliff, NJ.9

Carl W Hayes was born in 1890 in New Hampshire.2 Carl W Hayes appeared on the 1930 Census as the head of household at 7 Burlington Place, with Emma R as wife, and their children Elizabeth and Douglas W.2 The value of the house was $5,000.2 Carl W Hayes was a metal salesman, and in 1931 a salesmanager at the General Oil Heating Co. at 39 Godwin Ave in Ridgewood. In 1933 no occupation was listed.3,2,4 He owned a radio in 1930.2 Carl W Hayes was a Veteran of the World War.2 Carl W Hayes and Emma R Hayes moved before 1935 away from Radburn, as there was no longer an entry in the directory.5

Stevenson B Whitehead married Ruth P.4 Stevenson B Whitehead was a salesman.4 Stevenson B Whitehead moved before 1935 from 20B Townley Road to 7 Burlington Place, and before 1937 to 6 Ashburn Place.5,6
